Pubertal visit

Pubertal visit:

The pubertal visit is a preventive medicine consultation dedicated to your growing dog or cat from the age of 6 months.

This visit, often forgotten by many owners, makes it possible to address new topics specific to this stage of growth and to come back to certain points already introduced during pediatric visits.

Concretely, this will therefore be the occasion:
  • to monitor the general state of health and the growth of your pet,
  • to define a protocol for vaccination against leishmaniasis and/or piroplasmosis possible from the age of 6 months,
  • to adapt the preventive treatment plan against parasites internal and external depending on the age, weight and lifestyle of your animal,
  • to adapt thefeed depending on growth and possible future sterilization,
  • to verify certain key points of behaviour such as the acquisition of self-control, the development of fears, aggressiveness, destruction, etc...
  • to verify the acquisition of the cleanliness,
  • to plan a sterilization.
The pubertal visit therefore allows you to take stock with your veterinarian several months after the adoption and to adapt the preventive measures to this stage of growth. It is also an opportunity to identify certain behavioral problems early on and give you the keys to try to remedy them as quickly as possible.
