Go abroad with your cat

Going abroad with your cat:

If you want to go abroad with your cat, it is important to find out about the necessary arrangements more than a month before the departure date.
In general, the cat should:
  • be over 15 weeks old,
  • be identified by electronic transponder (or by tattoo if it was made before July 3, 2011 and is perfectly legible),
  • have his up-to-date rabies vaccinationr,
  • own a european passport, provided and completed by a veterinarian.
Depending on the country of destination, other methods may be requested (deworming, anti-rabies titration, international health certificate, etc.) to enter the country or to return to French territory afterwards.
You can inquire at the embassy or consulate of the country of destination. There is also a website which groups the recommendations by country: www.anivetvoyage.com.

It is also important to inquire with the company with which the trip will be made because certain formalities may be required, such as validation of the good health of the animal on the passport for example. In addition, not all transport cages are always authorized.
